Vedic Astrology
Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotiṣa, is a tradition of astrology that originates from India. The term "Jyotiṣa" translates to "science of light," and it refers to the study of celestial bodies that reflect their energy and light upon the Earth, influencing the course of human life. The roots of Vedic astrology can be traced back to the Four Vedas, ancient Hindu scriptures written in early Sanskrit around 1200 BCE. These scriptures contain ritual guidance, mantras, governing philosophies, and divine revelations². The word "vedic" originates from the word "veda," which means "knowledge, or insight." This refers to the true knowledge by which all other knowledge is known—the wisdom of knowing our nature and place in the dance of life.
